Hi All

I just wanted to let you know that Lyndall Currie lost her battle with cancer in the early hours of December 5th, we are all deeply saddened by the loss of this truly remarkable lady. She inspired us with her strength and determination to beat this illness, and all while also trying to live a normal life and spend as much time with her family as possible. A life taken too soon,  she will never be forgotten and will always live in our hearts.

What's been happening over the last two months......

Hi all,my apologies for not being around, there is so much happening and as usual not enough hours in the day.Well a quick rundown I had 5 teeth removed....yep and......ouch a little sore.I got sick with sinus for nearly five weeks and could not go to the gym and then I got braces, yes you heard right braces.I had been thinking about braces for a few years, but never did anything about it,well my teenage daughter needs to get them so we decided to get them together, with a little push from my husband.Mine are already on and my daughter will get hers in around a week.I am still getting use to them and eating can be a little challenge at time, but I am sure it will all be worth it in the end.

During the school holidays we had my daughters friends surprise birthday party at our place and she was wasn't expecting a party to be at our place.I had about 20 people over and her mum and I made her a special One Direction cake, which of course is her favourite band. The cake took quite a few hours to make as we made the british flag completely out of fondant.........we all had a good time and the cake was a hit.

My last bit of news for now is that my friend and I have decided to sell our jewellery at a market,a new venture for us,maybe a little scary, but we are looking forward to it.So since I have been better,I have been trying to build my strength back up at the gym and trying to get a load of jewellery made for the market we will be attending at the end of this month. It is the annual Doll,Bear and craft show that is held at the Museum of Fire in Penrith and the dates 27th and 28th October if you are going to be there come on over and say hello.Well must get some work done,I will leave you with photos of some of our jewellery.Hope to catch up with you all soon.

For Mothers Day and a 50th.............

Hi all, thankyou for hanging around, even though I don't get to blog as much these days.Well alot has happened over the last few weeks and the above jewellery is what I made for my youngest daughter for her school, for a Mother's Day stall. The cards I made as card packs to give to my daughters kindy class,so that they could put them together and give to their mum's on Mother's Day.The 50th card was made for a friend who had a 50th birthday to attend, the photo was taken with my phone so it is not as clear as I would have liked.I also had 4 teeth removed on Wednesday, well I was a little worried before going in but all seems good now,not much swelling and only a small bruise on one side.I still can't eat properly and I am so over that,I can't wait to eat a proper meal. And,I am hoping that all will be good for the end of the month as we are having a girls weekend at the Crown Casino in looking forward to that.Well off to get organised for tomorrow, have a wonderful evening all.

Finally...........some cards!!!!

Hi all,wow another long time between posts and as much as I love to craft,I have realised that there are more important things in life...........and that would be my family. So crafting is not something I get to do often at the moment, but when I do I really enjoy it.Anyway a friend asked if I could make her some cards and these are the first of them and I was hoping that I would remember how to love how they turned out, considering it has been a while since I have made a card,so I am looking forward to making the other two.
Well best be off,I have my youngest home sick and I am hoping that I may be able to make the other two cards while she has a sleep.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Party,a cake,some face painting and a card...............

Hi all,I am still here,I thought I should take a little time to let you all know what has been happening. We have had parties and nights out to attend, lots of school activities, personal matters to attend to and the usual house cleaning etc.My little miss is also off school at the moment,I had to pick her up Monday afternoon after she vomited in the classroom and it got worse.By the evening she just could not stop vomiting, even though she hadn't had anything to eat, and had had very little to drink. She finally stopped vomiting on Tuesday night at around 6pm,that was the last one.She still has not eaten and it has now been 2.5 days, though I think she is ready to eat something little for dinner, but I may keep her home tomorrow as she is still weak from being sick.

Well at least she got to enjoy her birthday party before she got sick, which is what all the photos above are about. This was also what kept me busy,I made the cake(yes the castle cake)I was so happy with how it turned out and everyone at the party loved it.It took me about 3 days,I started by making a mud cake with a recipe from a cookbook called Family Circle Making Beautiful Cakes.I covered the 2 layers with white fondant icing, then I used skewers to attach the smaller cake to the top of the larger one.All of the turrets, doors and windows are purchase them as a set and it is called Wilton Castle Cake Set.The turret points have been covered in yellow fondant icing and the turrets are glued down with white fondant.I piped around the door and windows and handmade all of the yellow flowers and I purchased the pink flowers.I tinted some royal icing green and used that for the grass, which also helped to keep the turrets in place and then I just popped all of the flowers on.Finally I used royal icing for a path and bordered that with flowers and then used a Princess Belle doll that I purchased at Toys R Us.I also made all of the cupcakes and had all sorts of other party food.To entertain the kids we had a beautiful Disney Princess jumping castle and a fantastic face painter, which the adults also enjoyed.Last of all the birthday card,my little miss loves Belle and loves yellow,so that became the theme for the card and party.I had no time for colouring an image so I found an image that I liked printed it and then cut it out............what a time saver and what's more, the card was a hit.

A large post from me,I had to make up for being do have some other cards to show, but I think I will leave that for another day, when my youngest is better.Thankyou all for hanging around, I will catch up with you early next week when little miss is better and after my husbands birthday.

Creatalicious Challenge #33..............

Hi all, firstly I wanted to say thankyou for all the lovely comments I received and I will get back to you all over the next couple of days.Well, little miss and I are finally better and I am slowly getting back into my crafting,I did make a commissioned Wedding card yesterday, but I had no time to take a photograph.I did however get to take a photo of the above commissioned card that I also combined with my DT duties over at Creatalicious.

This month the theme is "BUTTERFLIES and add some FLOWERS" and we are being sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop with a $10 store gift certificate for the winner. So hop on over, check out the gorgeous DT creations and join us for this fabulous challenge, you never know you may be this months winner.

Now to some news, I have been running the Creatalicious challenge blog for Bec now for nearly 3 years and it is time for me to leave.I haven't had alot of time to create lately and what time I do have,I just want to create for fun and have no deadlines. So if anyone is interested in being on the DT and helping Janne to run this blog, please send an email to with a link to your blog.We are hoping that this process will take no more than 2 weeks, but we will keep this open as long as necessary,we do have sponsors up until December. So, we will be open until then with me running it.But if I have no one to take over by the January 15th challenge we will unfortunately have to close the blog.

Well best be off,it is 1am here and I am really tired, will get to some blog hopping tomorrow after my sleep in(I hope).
